Weather forecast was not looking too good for today. When I got to Denham lay-by Steve, Ian, Rob our newest member and Chris were waiting. Pat was still in LA doing a grand job with babysitting and spending time with my son and his family. The turnout was poor due to weather forecast because more people had agreed to come on the ride at the club night.
We left Denham promptly at 9am as it looked like no one was going to join us. The journey there was uneventful unlike in the past where bits had fallen off from older bikes that accompany us. We arrived shortly after 10am and went straight for egg and bacon rolls with hot drinks.
So far so good as the weather had managed to stay dry. At about 11am we were let loose and off we went on our thirty miles’ jaunt through the villages and those country lanes. The route is always well organised and sign posted.
As it is customary each year we stop at this pub for a bit of lunch. Not only you get a break roughly midpoint but it allows for the rest of the gang to catch up. As we pulled into the pub we had a short sharp showers which only lasted about 5 minutes. By this time Max turned up out of nowhere but then he does only live just down the road from here. He also joined us on the ride back to the starting point.
Once everybody had arrived back at Fleet, the bike show was held and the winners were announced to collect their trophies. There was also raffle held and the prizes were handed out. Monies raised goes to this great charity. As usual none of us won trophies or raffle prizes and so it time to go home.
We left just after 3pm and it was great ride through Sunning Dale on our way home. Very enjoyable day out.
