Brooklands Ton-Up Day 02/07/2017

Arrived at Denham two minutes before 9 am and last ones as usual. There were six bikes in total waiting. Bob Norman with his friend, Steve, Sam, Bob and Kath, Rene (potential new member) Gordon, Brian and myself.
This must have been one of the most enjoyable ride for a long time as the weather was perfect and nobody got lost on the way there. The roads were very quiet and so we arrived just before 10 am. Colin had made his own way there as he arrived just a few minutes earlier.
After getting our selfies taken it was time for drinks and so we made our way to the cafeteria for teas and coffees. This is where we bumped into Laurie. As this was Kath’s first visit at Brooklands Bob and Kath left us to have a good look around the museum which has vast displays of Brooklands related Motoring, Aviation, Second World War Wellington bomber, Concorde and also has London Transport Bus Museum. The largest privately owned collection of London busses in the world.
Brian and l decided to have another drink and a sit down. As the Hill Top Climb had already begun there were no queues in the cafeteria and even managed to find a table.  Whilst eating our sandwiches we could see all the bike coming back down the hill. Laurie, Sam and Rene also joined us.
After lunch we had a good look around the stalls and the Museum where we met up with Linda from the Ace Café and Gary from the 59 Club. Max had brought two of his Norton’s to the show which were on display at Norton’s Club Stand. We also met John, Colin, Dave and Margret for a little chat before they wondered off for a look round the stalls.
As the sun was shining Brian and l had a lie down on the grass to enjoy the weather. After around thirty minutes or so it was getting hotter and hotter and so we decided to head for home. A great day out and it was nice to meet so many people.
Going home on the M25 was very busy so I was please to get indoors and enjoy the rest of the afternoon in our garden taking in the late afternoon sun.
